When to stop breastfeeding

At what month did you prefer to stop breastfeeding I don’t want to do it for too long I was maybe thinking about 6 months or closer to a year and then stop

11.5 months and going strong! Plan to start weaning day time nursing sessions at 1 year but maybe keep nursing just first morning and bedtime. I want to get through flu season. WHO recommends until 2 years of age but, I’m ready to have my body be just mine. I’m actually feeling guilty about stopping, I love nursing her. Good cuddle times and she won’t always want to cuddle.

We weaned completely at about 15 months old mostly because we’re expecting again and I didn’t want to continue with another baby coming.

It’s a personal preference. I’m currently at 3mo with our daughter and my goal is 6mo. I go back to workin a week, so I’ll be pumping. I set myself the goal but I also know it’s okay to go longer or shorter.

My daughter stopped a little after she turned 3 years old, probably only because I was pregnant and dried up. My son is 6 weeks now and I will nurse him as long as he wants to go for.
