Would you consider NOT giving a middle name?

A name we like is only one syllable and I just don’t like any potential middle names to go with it. I’m wondering if it would be weird to not give a middle name?? I’ve only ever met one person who didn’t have a middle name. Anyone have this experience?

My husband is from another country and they just don't do middle names there unless you actually call the person by 2 names. He doesn't even understand them. He's like, so you give a name that no one ever uses, why do it then?  I thought it was a given that we'd do it, but maybe because I'm just used to it. In other words, if it doesn't feel like it fits, no I don't think you need to give one

I personally think middle names are just as fun and can be used as much as first names. I use my kids’ middle names almost daily, and for things like registration and such. I think the middle name helps make it easier to identify anything that may be theirs (insurance, paperwork, etc.), since it’s very likely there is someone out there who shares the same first and last name. I also love names and don’t understand why anyone would not want to use another name they love? There are so many great names out there. Why choose just one? 
My SIL doesn’t have a middle name, and growing up, she felt left out. My oldest daughter now tells my SIL she will share her middle name with her. 😂

Pretty much no-one in my family has s middle mamey - so I don't find it odd. Actually most in Norway don't have one, but we tend to have two last names.

My kids have middle names, my nieces and nephews don’t. They have too many good family members that they would have loved to name kids after so instead of “picking favorites” they just didn’t give middle names. It’s totally fine to do without. 😄
