I do everything I can for him and this is what I get!

I have supported my best guy friend through thick and thin over the past 8 years and especially over this past year . And friendship (TRUE FRIENDSHIP) is never about i did this for you so you do this for me. I'm not like that. I never ask for anything like ever. And this isn't me being like tit for tat.

But seriously I have been there for him when he didn't have money in his bank account to put gas in his car or buy diapers for his kids. When he had no place to live, they crashed with me and then my parents cottage for nearly 5 months. I'd watch his kids while he was in court dealing with divorce related issues. My parents helped him buy groceries (while he stayed rent free at their cottage). I helped him put together his resume and sat with him applying for jobs online and yes he did get a part time job!

And me? Like some crazy person, asked if I could borrow his truck to pick up a piece of furniture through a girl on FB marketplace. He said yes. So I didnt worry right. Im supposed to pick this furniture up on TUESDAY night at about 5 PM. (that is tomorrow fyi)

This morning he asked me how long I needed the truck again for. I said hoping no more than 1.5-2 hours. He was like okay.

Then half an hour later he asked me if he could have his truck back by 6 PM. I said (nicely because yes I know it isnt my vehicle) that I probably wouldn't be able to drive to the place, load the stuff, come back and unload it and then bring him back his truck within 1 hour and that i would do my very best to have it back to him by 6:30 (an hour and a half).

He said he was hoping to grab a drink with friend. I said (again nicely) that he could take my car no problem as that was the original plan. He was like ahhh I would like to have my truck for it. And then asked me if I could find someone else's truck to borrow for it. I just responded with "Okay".

I'm not a rude or selfish person. But honestly in my mind I'm like really? You're gonna bail on me like that? The day before? Thanks best friend.
