10 week pregnancy but no baby

I had a private 10 week scan today and there was no baby. I had had one at 6 weeks and we could see the gestational sac and yolk sac but no foetal pole. They said the pregnancy didn’t develop since the last scan and the baby never formed.

I am yet to speak with my midwife and I’m not sure what do no next: wait for my body to expel the placenta and sac, take tablets or have a D&C. That’s my least favourite option.

For those who have been through this, how long did you have to wait for your body to get rid of the placenta and sac?

Any advice would be greatly received.
