1st Ultrasound & Beta HCG... Advice Please!
So, I really need some advice or any stories, good or bad, from people who have gone through a similar experience.
According to my last period, I should be 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant today.
I went for my first ultrasound to determine viability today. One thing to keep in mind is that I am extremely overweight and have PCOS. Anyways, they tried the vaginal ultrasound first, and the tech said that my cervix was blocking the view, so she ended up doing the external belly ultrasound. She did end up finding the baby, however, she said I was only measuring around 5 weeks instead of 9 weeks.
The doctor ended up sending me for bloodwork to test my HCG and I go back Thursday for the second blood draw to see if it’s increased or not.
Well, I got my bloodwork results back already for my first draw, and my HCG is at like 54,000. Does this seem too high for only measuring 5 weeks??
Or, because of my size, could the ultrasound not be accurate?
I haven’t really experienced any bleeding, except for some spotting like 3 weeks ago that only happened when I wiped. So, I don’t if I am experiencing a miscarriage or missed miscarriage..?
I know that sometimes my cycles are irregular and I don’t know exactly when I ovulated, so I guess I could have ovulated late.... but, I just can’t get the math to work.
Someone please ease my mind... seeing my HCG so high kind of made me feel better, but I just don’t know what to think. And, they never gave me an ultrasound image, or else I would share that as well.
