I am a new Step-Mother. Any advice on being a bonus mom and dealing with the childs Mother?

I would like some genuine advice on things that I can do to be an even better step mother. 
I love my bonus daughter to pieces and I never ever want her to feel like she is not wanted or loved us.
Although for the past 2 years her mother has been rude, I have always been the bigger person, and I refuse to be rude or petty towards her. I'm always pleasant and kind to her. 
Any advice on how I can deal with the mother or is it best if I do not deal with her at all.

Don’t talk trash about the kids mom. Especially not in front of her. Don’t be abusive. Realize you are a parent-figure, but that doesn’t mean you get to decide the “important” things.

I would just let your SO deal with her, that way you don’t have any contact with her, so no conflict either. 
Or if you really have to talk to her limit it strictly to the child, nothing more. 
Ask him if he si available if you want to do something with the child. 
And still respect what she tells you, she is the childs mother.

This is my 2x being a stepmom my ex husband babymother an me r super close i had custody of him while she was in jail , i still see him even tho I’m not with his dad anymore

Hi I’m dealing with the same !!!!! Ugh last 2 years also she never let us see the kids well court came found out what school they went to an got them , she called cps on us case jus closed ! We have full custody now due to the kids admitting personal .. i would jus ignore an worry about the kids my stepdaughter an stepson love me they don’t even ask about there mom
