I typically go once, maybe twice a year but that's when something feels off. I have AS so I go for blood tests at least once a year.

I got yearly for a physical and then any other time I'm not feeling well thay would warrant a doctor visit

I go every year for a gyn (my primary is also my gyn) and every year for a physical then I go throughout the year anytime I’m sick -with more then a cold (or if it lasts way too long) or injured and have pain more then 3 days lol I’m very into going to the doctors 😅

Aside from that it's an as need basis, so like if I am sick and need antibiotics or am sick and just need to make sure its not bad. 
It is very good to have a primary care physician. You have better outcomes when you have a doctor who knows you and has seen you or at a place where you go. They can refer you to specialists too. Instead of rushing to an urgent care or ER when minor things are wrong.

I used to go yearly and when anything was wrong. But I struggled with infertility for 4 years so my OB was constantly doing so much bloodwork and checking my levels, I didn’t see a point. Then we went to a specialist and I had way more tests done so I definitely didn’t go to a primary at that point. 
Now that my son is here and we are done trying, I need to go find a new primary since I don’t think my doctor even practices in this area anymore 😬
