HPV vaccine. Why are some people against it?

I’ve been noticing a lot of people seem to be against giving their children the hpv vaccine. I’m just wondering if you’re choosing not to, why? Please don’t shame anyone on this topic I really just want to learn and be informed! There’s not much online on why people are choosing not to get this

I think there was a lot of misinformation surrounding it when it first came out (even my mom wasn’t on board at first) but it was been reviewed and now used for years and my doctor 100% recommends it, so I got it at 18 and a shot last year at 24 and will get my last one next year when I’m 26 (I’m pregnant now so I can’t finish it just yet).

My mom is against it because it was the only vaccine any of her kids experienced a side effect after (one of my sisters fainted). And like the flu shot it doesn’t protect against all strains so some people are like “what’s the point then.” My mom kinda instilled in me to be nervous about it, but my kids will be getting it when they’re of age.

There are lots of people that still get hpv after the vaccine.
When I was like 11 or 12 and the vaccine got in my country, my mom asked a doctor about it and if I should get it and she said no because there wasn't much research about it compared to other vaccines (it was new), but that was YEARS ago, I'm sure things have changed.
I still wouldn't get the vaccine. You need routine pap smears and you will detect any abnormalities early and I'm sure you will be fine! People survived without this vaccine, it's not a big deal.
I got all the other routine vaccines that, I'm really pro vaccines those of diseases that can't be cured. I think hpv and hpv cancer related can be pervented if you practice safe sex and have regular check ups every year or so

I wish I didn’t get it. I was maybe 19, and I had my first abnormal pap. Then it was just mentioned like get these 3 shots and you’ll be fine going forward. But hpv is a lot more complex than that and the vaccine only protected against certain strands
