How do I approach a breakup? 😭

When, where, how?
We are engaged, live together, have joint finances and everything. I've been thinking of a breakup for a really long time, just wasn't sure if I should do it.
How do I approach the topic, do I pack his stuff, help him pack? Do I tell him why?  I have to be prepared for everything.
It might come as a total surprise for him.
I have valid reasons for leaving, he wouldn't understand. He is severely narcissistic (npd).

Before you do anything;
Separate your finances. Pull your money out of the joint account and re-route any direct deposit to a different account bearing your name only. 
Set up and have a place to go. Perhaps begin moving some things you have of value before you drop the axe so as to avoid any tampering or destruction of things that are meaningful.
Then sit him down and have an adult conversation outlining how you feel and letting him know the relationship is over.

If you have joint finances, as in a shared account, I would remove half of it and open a separate account and remove your name from the joint. If you get direct deposit have that changed immediately. Just saying this because if he is a narcissist things can go poorly. I have seen one in action, he refused to leave their house initially since they owned it together. So don’t assume he will just up and leave easily, even if the house is in your name. Good luck.

Pack his stuff and tell him you're having second thoughts and you need some time alone to think and that he if he can leave ASAP and you’ll be in contact with him that you know this is sudden but that you need to be alone. Then break the news to him once he’s gone. 🤷‍♀️
