4 month old to start eating??

Question

When did you offer your baby food? What was the first thing you offered? 
I’m EBF and contemplating when/what I should offer him. If you’re EBF, how often do you offer solids?

It's recommended to wait until 6 months to introduce solids to make sure that baby meets all requirements. Sitting up okay, good neck control, no longer has the reflex where the tongue pushes food out, etc.

My son started at 4 months, he was an advanced sitter. We started with mashed foods and Gerber purées. He was EBF as well

6 months. You offer basic things like peaches, pears, prunes, or apples. It also has to be step one food because it’s ground finer. You can also do rice or oat baby cereal.

Our doctor said to trust our judgment, if baby seemed ready and met all the requirements we could start. I believe we started at 5 months. Boy was she ready! Took to it like a natural. We started with oat cereal mixed with breast milk. I like the earths best brand

We started at 4 months 1 meal a day like breakfast and slowly added more foods and we only did like 1 Tbl spoon at a time as well.

I’m on my second EBF baby. I started both at 5 months with pediatrician approval and them showing signs of being ready. I give my 5 month old baby food once a day at dinner time. I usually do a veggie or I will mix fruit in baby oatmeal. With my first around 6 months I switched to baby led weaning. I’m planning the same with this baby

Can baby sit up on their own? You could do solids/ purees or baby led weaning...I would say start by talking to your doctor or pediatrician

When her doctor told me I could start winging her off formula (she was under weight and she needed the help to gain it) she now eats anything and everything and is 1.10 years old

If your doing it that early talk to your doctor before 
I always start with baby porridge for a few weeks then a few times a day for another few weeks then introduce vegetable purée then fruit
