What did your contractions feel like??

Question

First time mom and I am 37 weeks + 1. I have no idea what a contraction feels like. I’ve googled it and everything but every time I have some sort of “pain” I never know if it is just found ligament, if it is my baby getting in a weird position that makes me uncomfortable, or if it is a contraction.
Give me your best explanation or comparison of how your contractions felt please!

As someone who thought she was in labor on and off for 2 weeks with #1, let me tell you that you’ll know the real ones when they come. 😅
They’re like really bad period cramps with each one a bit more intense than the previous and getting closer and closer together.
The early labor I got was regular contractions with the same intensity and equal length of time between them, the real ones were more intense and they would start at my back and come to the front and my whole belly would be really hard for the duration. It also started getting more difficult to speak between them.
#2 was sunny side up so the labor was mostly in my back

Mine just felt like amped up Braxton hicks.  Like my stomach would tighten and its be hard as a rock.  Once labor started its tighten and then wrap around into my back and cause back pain.  As it progressed my whole midsection and thighs would hurt

They will take your breath the moment they start. Very beginning is like period cramps or stomach cramps when you have a stomach bug kinda. Then once they intensify  they hurt so bad you cannot speak you can only breathe. It’s literally the only thing you can do,

Mine felt like Braxton hick contractions. I went in for my 38 week appointment and I got told I was having contractions 😂 I was mind blown because they didn’t hurt at all. And then when my water broke I had bad back contractions I could still talk and everything but they were pretty intense.

When I was in early labor, it felt like stomach cramps and then period cramps. I literally thought I was constipated and my water broke while on the toilet trying to go. Lol I had no idea until my water broke. Just thought I was a little sick to my stomach. I never made it past early labor because baby was breech, but I hope this helps! I always thought I would know, but I slept for hours tossing and turning uncomfortable before I woke up and still didn't know until my water broke. I mean, eventually I would have figured it out lol but yeah.
