What do you feed your children for school lunches?

Question

I am very curious what non Americans send their kids for lunch.
I know when I was young my Mom was more creative sending soups in thermoses and cute things but as I got older is was deli meat/cold cuts or PBJ on bread and a granola bar. 
She started having us make our own lunch around 10/12. Maybe she thought it was easy for us to make ourselves.

When I was in Elementary my mom would pack our cultural foods which would be rice/meat/veggies. Some snacks. I think I rarely ever had a sandwich. We don’t eat sandwiches lolll so even now at work I bring an actual meal and all the foreigners do but I see a lot of Americans with sandwiches for lunch.  I live in the USA I just had this convo with coworkers today lol bc this woman said I was rude for bringing stinky fish (salmon) to work. I said well I’m not going to bring a sandwich to appease u lol I eat a real meal 😂

Just the usual. Sandwiches, crisps, yoghurt, chopped strawberries/grapes and a drink... my child is very fussy with her food!

My LO isn’t at school yet so he gets provided with food at daycare but I work at a school in Australia.
There is an option to buy your lunch at school (things like fresh sandwiches or rolls, toasted sandwiches, sushi rolls, pizza, lasagna, salads, fruit, muffins, etc.) but majority of students bring their lunch most days. 
I’d say the most common lunchbox items are sandwiches, rolls, wraps, pasta salads, fruit, veggie sticks and dip, crackers and cheese, and the odd treat- chips, cookie, slice of cake, etc.

I’m in the US. My daughter is in preschool. She takes a hard boiled egg, cheese stick, yogurt, some fruit, and applesauce pouch and pirates booty or goldfish. Sometimes she takes cheese and pepperoni.

My 3 year old sister currently gets sent to school with a sandwich, juice, and a different combination of crisps, fruits and yoghurt.

In bc Canada we had a buy in lunch program but my parents never participated. Mostly we had a piece or two of fruit. Our water bottle, a sandwich or left overs from dinner and a little snack like a granola bar or fruit snacks

As a kid my mom would absolutely not fix our lunches. If I wanted to take my lunch to school, I had to make it myself which meant in kindergarten when they had salad for lunch my 5 year old self was packing her own lunch. Not sure what I took.

I'm in Canada. As a kid my mom made us lunches or we went home (we literally lived like a 2 min walk from our school). Usually a sandwich, fruit, granola bar or whatever. In Highschool we had a cafeteria but we had to buy what we had for lunch. Those were the years I ate the unhealthiest I ever have in my life. Every day for lunch I would have a small poutine, a small chocolate milk and a big ol' brownie. I can't believe how I stayed small in highschool haha

Here for the comments because my kids definitely didn't get enough to eat when they were in school. Due to covid I couldn't bring them any snacks like I used too.a
