Anyone else feel overwhelmed when trying to set up a registry?

I find it very overwhelming like how do you know which brand is better there is bad reviews on everything. This is just beginning to be very overwhelming for me. Ugh.

It's was stress free for me.
1). Price/ what I could afford as me and my fiance bought everything ourselves.
2)what had multiple uses/stages
3) if the newest reviews were good reviews as products can change over time.

Yup! And I swear you need a master degree to put some of the baby gear together. 😂 I remember my mom asking me what diapers I prefer. How the hell would I know?? Lol you learn as you go but it can be a lot the first time.

I just picked the top two or three brands I liked for whatever product and I added one of each to the registry. I don’t want to add a whole bunch of one brand and then my baby end up being allergic or something so I figured I would just ask for different kinds and see what works for her￼

I asked friends and read reviews from Lucie's List and borrowed my friend's Baby Bargains book though I'm not sure if they still make those

I probably took my registry too seriously but honestly I think the hard work I put into it literally paid off. Me and my husband are going to have to buy very little when baby is born. Here are the steps I followed: 
1. Find a good comprehensive list online of what all to register for in each category (like clothing, feeding, diapering, furniture, etc.)
2. Tackle each category one at a time. I spent a few weeks researching and putting mine together and just checked items off once they were on my registry. 
3. For almost every item on my registry, I would Google it (like “how to pick a stroller” or “best diapers” or “best nipple cream”). After reading 1-2 articles, I’d make a pick and put it on the registry. 
After I was done I would add or purge items as I found new products or read more. Hope this helps!

I don’t go off the what people say. Everyone has different opinions. Something you may recommend others wouldn’t. Always go with what you think is best for your baby and what you think is best for you.

I narrowed it down by googling "best (whatever) for newborns" and a lot of pregnancy websites already compiled lists. 
I then looked those up on Amazon/checked Consumer Reports ratings.
Also, try asking around...my SIL made a list for me of the most helpful things to buy for baby.
