Covid test and boyfriend...

My boyfriend is sick, and I knew he wouldn’t go get a Covid test. He refused to believe he might actually have it. I have had a stuffy nose, but other than that, I’ve been fine. But bc I knew he wouldn’t go get tested, I went and got a Covid test without telling him. I figured I’d tell him when I got my results. Well, I got them, and as soon as I opened my results, I let him know.

Now he’s angry at me for going behind his back and not telling him I was getting tested. He said he thought I had better character than that.

I didn’t tell him I was going bc we have been arguing nonstop since he got sick because nothing I try to do makes him happy when he’s sick. I didn’t want to start another argument, so I didn’t tell him. I figured if I told him, he’d tell me not to go get tested BUT I wanted to get tested because I do work with people who have underlying conditions and I didn’t want to get anyone else sick. So, my question is...

Am I wrong for going behind his back and getting tested?
