What kind of nails should I get?

So basically I've never been to a nail salon before and I've only ever painted my nails at home. I wanted to get nails (some nail art I like attached below) but I have no idea what to get. I also don't like super long nails and kinda want a length like the orange ones I attached or the nails with the heart shapes on. Should I ask for shellac or gel or something else? I have no idea 😭 ideally I'd like it to last a few weeks
