Missed miscarriage ..

I went in for my prenatal checkup and was told my baby didn’t have a heartbeat... it was the worst feeling in the world and can’t stop replaying it in my head...I have been having a really hard time and was told I needed to decided if I wanted to wait it out, take a medication , or do the D&C procedure. Can anyone please tell me there experience. My doctor said I would be given a pain medication and cervix would be given a shot to be numb. I don’t want to do the medication or wait it out because I’m so scared and feel like i wouldn’t emotionally be able to handle seeing my baby come out.
