Single umbilical artery (SUA)?

Question

Hi all. Just had my 20 week ultrasound and they discovered I have a single umbilical artery (1 artery instead of 2). I have a level II scan next week. I’m also on weekly progesterone (Makena) shots to prevent preterm delivery (my first baby was born at 35 weeks). These combined risk factors are making me a bit nervous... anyone have/had SUA? I have what they are referring to ask an isolated SUA or iSUA. It was found during our 20 week anatomy scan and we were referred to the MFM or high risk doctor for another ultrasound two days later to get a better idea what we were looking at. They ruled out any concerns with genetically abnormalities or any issues with her heart, kidneys or bladder so are just referring to it as an isolated incident. They said we will just be more closely monitored because our biggest risk was to have her be smaller in size so we would do additional growth scans at 28 and 32 weeks to monitor. At the 28 week scan, she measured right on track if not slightly bigger and my OB was thrilled. I have the next scan in about two weeks and hoping for the same outcome.

I just found out two weeks ago at my 23 weeks scan that my son also has SUA. My previous pregnancy 1.5 years ago was “normal” and i had him at 36 weeks. Waiting for my specialist to call for my other scan and testing.  Can I ask the outcome and if there were any complications?
