Not helping
I’m currently recovering from abdominal surgery. DH’s mom came into town to help. She’s been great with stuff around the house. But I don’t think she understands that I’m the Mom and she’s grandma. The doctor said I can’t lift anything more than 10 pounds, which means I can’t carry my 11 pound daughter. BUT they said I can sit and hold her all I want.
Well, MIL barely let’s me do that. I’m constantly asking to have my child. It only lasts a couple minutes and then she takes her back even when I say I’m fine. DH keeps telling me just to ask for her back. I shouldn’t have to ask for my child. DH says she’s just enjoying seeing her. I understand that but I’m mom and she’s MY daughter. Like right now she took her to change her and didn’t come back to me. I raised my voice a little and asked where they went and she said they were hanging out in LO’s room for a bit. I can’t move around too well right now so I can’t get to LO’s room on my own.
It’s really starting to piss me off. Saturday was the first time in two days that I got to hold my own child since my surgery on Thursday. When DH is home he gives her to me but when it’s MIL and I, I have to ask to hold her. This is not helping. This is the opposite of helping.
