Is anyone else having issues with famil members not taking COVID seriously ?

Hello ladies, 
I don’t know about anyone else but I’m living in a state where the coronavirus number are out of control. I’ve been staying home and only leaving when necessary and wearing my mask 😷, but I have several family members who don’t seem to be taking it as seriously as I am. Now, I’m fine with letting others live how they want but they’re wanting to come over and visit with no mask on... this is a problem for me because I don’t want to get sick because of someone else’s actions.. have any of you had to deal with this too?

Definitely. My husband’s mom told me tonight she has given up all her holidays but won’t give up Easter next year.... I just thought I’ll be so close to my due date there is no way I’m coming to that if the numbers aren’t any better.

My husbands sister and her family are going to a theme park this week and staying in a touristy area while they’re in town for Christmas... it’s a huge hotspot in TN. Then they want to get together Saturday for Christmas... I have so many mixed feelings about this and I don’t know if I want to risk the exposure. I wish I had encouraging words for you! But I just don’t know either ❤️

We have family who aren’t taking it seriously, but they don’t live near us. We have a rule that anyone who wants to visit needs to isolate for 10 days before their visit.

Yup. My mom and her husband. It has strained our relationship so much because she thinks it's not that big of a deal and in her words "people die evey day from all kinds of things" its absolutely heartless and disrespectful to families who have lost their loved ones. Idc if it isn't as contagious, people are dying and it upsets me because she and my step dad have NO empathy. They tried coming to our house months ago after gallivanting through a hot zone and going to a concert. Like no sis. You might be my mom, but that doesn't give you a free pass to be irresponsible with my kids and my unborn child. I hate how selfish people are.

My husband works for his parents. They aren’t requiring anyone who works in their office, or who enters their building, to wear a mask. They have had 4 people in their building of about 10-15 test positive since November. Now half of my husbands family has covid, and his dad is showing symptoms. We have no idea whether they will follow the protocols and shut down/quarantine. I am so frustrated because their business has been booming from this situation, because they sell high end fire places and wealthy people are bored at home, doing remodels. I have been making my husband wear a mask to work regardless, and he has quarantined from me 3 times since November, because of their negligence. I keep getting comments from his mom about how much she misses our daughter, and my attitude is like 🤷🏻‍♀️ put on a damn mask when you work and maybe I’d consider letting her be around you. 
It has been incredibly frustrating because my husbands sisters were both pregnant through the first wave, one with twins, and the one pregnant with twins lived with them. They were so cautious with her (still didn’t wear masks at work, but cases were less severe then 🙄).
It has been a messy, stressful, roller coaster for my husband and I, as I’m not at a viable point in my pregnancy yet, I’ve had two miscarriages, and 15 months of infertility before we conceived this baby. Basically I had a break down last night and told him if I catch it because his parents are so arrogant, and I lose this baby, I will never speak to them again. 
It’s been awful.

I haven’t seen my oldest since Halloween weekend. The ONLY way we get to see him is if we forgo my in laws Christmas gathering. Without hesitation my husband agreed to stay home. 
His mother is “hurt” because “kids get colds all the time” my kid hasn’t been in a group in months. I told her the only way they’ll let us bring him is if EVERYONE wears a mask in the house and she immediately shot it down saying everyone has been together this whole time, 
Her and my father in law watch all their grandkids while we all work during the week. 
Essentially she wants me to sacrifice seeing my kid so she can see her own. Her kid is 35, mine is 9. 
Sorry touchy topic, this conversation with her was yesterday morning.

We don’t go around anyone who is hanging out in groups or going to restaurants/Bars. There are. It many cases here thankfully,  but it’s not worth the risk. And if it is still a big issue come Covid people will meet the baby via FaceTime

I wouldn’t let them come over. We haven’t had anyone besides my parents since it got cold enough to not gather inside. We have a small house so not enough room to distance with random people.

You know the answer to this question, u just want validation from an outside party. It’s shouldn’t be about that, it should be about whether or not u truly believe your life is in danger. If so u don’t need an okay from someone else, especially a stranger, u just gotta put your big girl panties on and let them know everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and shouldn’t be judged by them, but everyone isn’t entitled to enter the home that u cook clean pay bills in, that is YOUR home, u make the rules, those who cannot respect them are not welcome. They wouldn’t feel guilty about putting THEIR foot down in THEIR home, so why should I feel any different about yours? I love ya, but ya gosta go ✌🏽
