Need your thoughts

So my bf and I had sex with a condom a day before my period came and then we did it a couple more times during my period. I got really stressed after we did it because my stomach was growling a lot and kept me up at night. I told him that I need to get on birth control before we do it again. He was really supportive and everything. I told him that I want to get a test just to make sure and it came out negative. What do you guys think?? Am I okay??
