When to give water?

I am going to start giving my baby rice cereal for the first time! She’s 5 months & my doctor gave the ok. I will be doing it maybe 1-2 times a day to start. Should I be giving her a bit of water or wait until I do more purees of veggies and stuff like that?

Please don’t give rice cereal. It’s not healthy and no nutritional value. Many other reasons why listed below. 
Also baby should be 6m old at minimum with all ready signs met before starting solids. 
That is all major health orgs recommendations.

I started water at 6 months with food. I once she was used to eating food. She loved it. At first I would hold a little cup for her to take sips out of then moved on to a sippy cup

Babies can start water when they have solids, which shouldn’t be until all signs of readiness are met. (So definitely not 2 or 3 months 😬). But if your baby is cleared for solids then very small amounts of water— talk to your pediatrician— are usually permitted.

5 months is perfect time. Just remember to only try one food every few days to help detect any possible allergies.

I’m a infant teacher and 5 months is a good time 😊 she probably won’t like it much to begin with but in no time she will get better at eating and drinking from a sippy cup. 
I’ve noticed a lot of my first time baby parents start foods really late as they are afraid of choking

I waited until my kids had teeth and ate solids. 11 months. They can’t fully digest food properly and can develop allergies if you start solids to soon.
