What do contractions feel like?

I find myself asking this question a lot and searching it up on google. But I can’t seem to figure it out. Everywhere and everyone I ask, they say it feels like menstruated cramps. But that doesn’t help me because I don’t remember what they feel like nor did I have them (if I did they were mild). With my first pregnancy my water broke and he came 10 hrs later. I don’t even remember the contractions. I’m currently 38+3 weeks and 3cm dilated at my 38w appointment. So if you remember or have a better way of explaining what they feel like could you please help me.

I never understood that, contractions never felt like period cramps to me.
For me it was like... have you ever had to poop but like couldnt? Like that times 100.

It starts out like very light period cramps and gradually progresses until you cannot ignore them, talk through them, etc anymore

It's like really bad poop cramps. Like you have eaten something bad and those painful cramps you get while waiting to run to the washroom lol. Only they don't stop and progressively get worse.

It honestly feels like poop cramps that made me sweat. I also labored in my back as well. So not only did I feel like i had to take the worst number 2 on top of sweating, my back felt like it was slowly about to snap in 2.

I have horribly painful periods to the point of throwing up so when in active labour it was very comparable. As well as so much pressure and tightness in the belly

It’s like a muscle cramp with a tight belly
