Pre-school or wait?

Are any of you starting preK for your 3 years old next year or are you waiting until they turn 4? My little guy isn’t in daycare- we are lucky enough to have both my mother and in law watching him. We definitely are thinking something at least part time next year to get the socialization but are trying to weight the benefits of pre-school vs day programs through the town.

We’re starting our daughter this coming school year when my school resumes. As a teacher, even a couple of days a week would be beneficial just so your kiddo isn’t starting kinder or TK with absolutely no knowledge of letters or their sounds; as well as that school like routine and socialization.

We weren't planning on it, but she wants to go to school like her big sister and she would really love the chance to play and make her own friends. We're only sending her to a half day program for 3 days a week. I know she'll love it!!

We are sending our kiddo in the fall! He will go three full days a week. It will basically replace the days he’s going to daycare now (and ends up being cheaper than daycare for us!). My husband works at the school so we know it’s a great program. I’m a little nervous/sad but I think it will be great for him.

Where I live kids start the september term after they turn 3. I could have sent him to nursery the term after he turned 2 but with covid I just didn't feel comfortable with it. I'm not sure if I'm gonna home school or not yet, it depends on if I go back to my own education.

Our state starts school with 4K, which is when he’ll start. It will be half days. He goes to an in-home daycare with two other kids his age, so he gets some socialization that way and she does a lot of learning activities.
