Any mommies with kids that have cold sores?!?

Question

Need opinions. My son got what looked like a bit or chapped lips yesterday morning by kid afternoon it was a single circle scab (first picture below) and today he woke up with nothing. Could it be a cold sore??? 
It healed in less than 24 hours and never has gotten them.

I get cold sores bad, and that doesn’t look like it from my experience. Usually they’re a cluster of blisters that have actual fluid in them & they get itchy, red, swollen and hot. Once the blisters burst, they will get crusty and scab over. It can take a few weeks for the whole process to resolve. I would guess his tooth maybe hit his lip or something bumped him.
