When to leave him sleeping?

Question

My baby is 2 weeks old I breast feed him and I know I’m suppose to feed him every 2-3 hours but sometimes he’s sleeping and doesn’t want to wake up but I still try to wake him up to feed him. I’m just won when should I just let him sleep and wake up when he’s ready to be feed

I would let him sleep....so long as he is back up to birth weight.

That's a weight/doctor question all the way. If you little one is gaining weight at all appointments, let him sleep through a few.  My first had to be woken for all feeds until she was 3 weeks, then we got the OK to let her decide when to eat.

I wait until I’m cleared by the pediatrician. If the baby has surpassed or is back at their birth weight they can sleep through the night without being woken up.

Overnight if he is back at birth weight I would leave him asleep. During the day I would make sure a newborn doesn’t go over 4 hrs between feedings. As he gets older this can change.

I never woke my daughter but she also had gained weight before we even left the hospital so it's never something I was worried about

You need to call your pediatrician and ask them. 
Our doctor told us to wake our son during the day. Clearly people on here say not to, but they aren’t pediatricians.
