Eye damage on infant

My boyfriend had mentioned to me last night that our 4 month old daughter had scratched her eye. We had just clipped her nails about 4 days ago so I didn’t think there would be any damage. However, I woke up this morning and looked at my daughters eye and apparently she had scratched the INSIDE of her eye because the left side of it is all red and there’s a huge red mark on the white of her eye along with the surrounding redness. I also noticed her eye is oozing because there’s dried crust all over the bottom of her eye. I’m currently on hold with the pediatric office but they’re closed today. I’m trying to decide if she needs to be taken to the ER or if this injury will heal on its own? I tried to get a picture but it’s practically impossible.
