It's not a myth, it does help. The contractions that an orgasm cause create a vacuum and get sperm where they need to go more efficiently. It is in no way a requirement, if it were at least 3/4 of the women who have conceived would not have been able to

From my research it helps if u have an orgasm I believe like 5 minutes before your partner. Wasn't necessary for me tho

I don't know about the cervix. But when you orgasm your cm gets much more slippery and is perfect to help sperm travel through your vagina. That's how orgasm might help with conception
