(Question for hairstylists) is bleach supposed to itch EXTREMELY bad & burn a little on your head?

I got my hair done and I’ve had it done several times with someone else, I love to do vivid hair colors, but this new girl I went to as soon as she started applying the bleach to my hair, it was EXTREMELYYYY itchy I couldn’t stop shaking in the chair, I couldn’t stop itching, it was HORRIBLE then it burned a little, so I don’t know why that happened, and I’m pretty sure there’s a reason why it happened..
Do you hairstylists have an idea on why that happened?

I’d be concerned. It may be normal for some but if this isn’t a typical reaction for you I’d ask the stylist who did your hair, what volume she used. For straight on the scalp bleach application we were advised to only use 10 volume to prevent chemical burns. Make sure your scalp is okay. Ask someone to take photos if there is any redness or anything out of the ordinary and contact the salon. I really hope that she immediately washed out your hair if you told her you were uncomfortable and were feeling burning.

If you shower before you put bleach on your hair,It can burn 🔥 I recommend going at least two days without showering,then bleach,Use the oils that are in your hair to your advantage. Oil= no burn.
