Do people use the calendar method of birth control?

Just wondering if people really just track their cycles and don't have sex during their fertile days? I mean it makes sense but is almost too easy, I know its not 100% effective. Please let me know your personal experiences with it. Thanks!

It’s only like 70% effective and given all of the far far far more effective forms of birth control out there I’m not sure why you’d want to take that chance.

Husband and I just do it. LOL.. from start to finish. However, we are trying to conceive #1 and have been for the last 11 months.. but prior to actually TTC, he would pull out. I didn’t track anything because I was on BCP. I’d say though if you don’t want any ooops’ or surprises it would be best to have some sort of birth control

Apps and calendars are a guess of ovulation. Definitely can be a great tool but I’ve found that when trying to get pregnant(or in your case avoid) you need to test. Ovulation tests and trying to get to know your body and how it reacts when ovulation occurs. Not completely sound proof method but I would definitely educate yourself on LH surge strips and invest in some from amazon! You can get a whole box for like 14 bucks.

My husband and I use it along with withdrawal method.  We have sex whenever we want but he pulls out during my fertile time. 3 years and no babies yet. We are okay if we end up pregnant we just aren't ready to fully try to get pregnant

I’m young and I use the method. You have to have regular periods though. Doesn’t work nearly as well with irregular periods because you. CAn ovulate at a different time and catch it too late. I only recommend for people with regular periods.

My husband and I use that method. 
I track using 2 different apps and confirm ovulation with tests when approaching, during and after ovulation (to confirm the ovulation period is over). During the week of ovulation we use condoms and then rely on the withdrawl method during other times. (He does have good control over ejaculation and always withdrawls with plenty of time to spare.)
Our current position is that we are actively attempting to avoid pregnancy but it would not be a tragedy if it were to befall us. We have been using this for about 10 years with no missteps.
We understand there is a risk when using this method, as with any method really, but the risk is acceptable.
