Replace IUD or....?
Hi ladies!
My Mirena is about to expire and I need to figure out what I should do next. I’m 27, and have been in a relationship for 5 years. It’s a forever thing, so children are in the near future, just not right now. I was thinking maybe I just don’t want to even be on birth control and just go natural. My bf agrees that natural would probably be better (even though he knows it’s my choice- just his input). Obviously we would use protection but I don’t want to have an oopsie. I’ve tried the copper IUD before and my results were horrendous. My periods were so uncomfortable and had to change a tampon every 30 minutes. I also didn’t try it for very many months and this was a few years back, so maybe my natural body/hormones have changed. I’m nervous to try it out again since the Mirena has worked well for me. I’m at the point where idk what to do. Should I just take the pill? Get the arm implant? Get another Mirena and take it out when we’re ready? What would you guys do... help please!
Forgot to mention, I continued to get my periods with Mirena. They are much lighter but still just as long. Not sure what that says about my body naturally but thought it may be important lol
