Is bleeding this long normal?

I had the copper IUD fitted on the 26th of November and I have been heavily bleeding every since. I was spotting prior from the 5th of November so you can imagine how done with bleeding I am.. is this normal? I didn't have my checkup appointment after the fitting.

I had the copper iud put in after my second daughter and hated it. I bled heavily for weeks at a time going thru super plus tampons and pads in an hour or 2 and really never getting a long break where I wasn’t bleeding. It then slipped by a centimeter or 2 and I ended up getting pregnant. For me, I would never get another copper iud and only get the mirena or one similar. Call your doctor if you’re nervous!

Spotting or light bleeding can last 6 months but not heavy call your doctor
