Depo and Mirena experience/question
When I first starting getting my period, it was really irregular and hard to keep track of so eventually I decided birth control would help. I started getting my depo shot every 3 months and I bled for 2-3 months straight at the beginning and then hadn't had another period until I switched to an IUD (Mirena).
I was taking depo for about 3ish years without any problems or symptoms but I now go to school in another province and it became a pain trying to find a pharmacy that would inject it (especially with Covid) which is ultimately why I decided to make the switch 🤷 I got the Mirena IUD inserted July 31, 2020. I had mild cramps for a couple days right afterwards and then everything went back to normal - no bleeding or period symptoms - last month I was put onto antibiotics because I had such severe back pain, cramps and a little bleeding (they thought it could've been a UTI). Now, this month, I'm on my period. I get cramps, I'm bleeding, I can't seem to eat enough and I have back pain. I'm 21 years old and haven't had my period since I was like 16 or 17 and it royally sucksss. My doctor didn't think my period would return because I'm still just on Progesterone, same as I've always been.
Long story short: I was just wondering if any of you girls have had a similar issue?
