Potty training? He will be 18 months soon

My son will be 18 months soon and I’m 50/50 I want to start but at the same time I feel like he’s really young. I want to get it done before my newborn comes in April but not sure🤷🏼‍♀️ thanks!

We started around 16 months when she recognized what pee and poop were. She will occasionally tell us when she has to go and sometimes we either get there too late or she won’t tell us until after she’s gone. She’s still young but I feel it’s a really good start

I have no idea when to start potty training. We always know when he’s pooping, but he doesn’t tell us.

I’m waiting for my son to turn 20 months on the 9th next month. No specific reason but I do want to get it over with. He’s showing signs that he wants to try and says “potty”

I’m due in April as well, and I’m in the same boat as you! I want to get my daughter potty trained before the new baby is here, if at all possible. I do feel that she is ready, she tells me when she is pooping, and she goes to the toilet when she pees, she doesn’t like having a wet diaper at all. However, she is scared of pooping in the toilet, so I did buy a little potty for her, I’m going to try that and see if it helps her at all! I’m trying to look at it as phases, if I can get her to atleast poop in the potty, that’s a plus for me not having to change 2 babies poopy diapers🤷🏻‍♀️ or atleast potty trained during the day, and focus on the night time once she’s a bit bigger! I think as a mom, you know when your kid is ready and can fully understand the concept, so just trust your instinct. You can always try and see what happens!

We got her potty as her 1st Bday gift. Since 14 months, we have it in the bathroom close to the toilet. I say let them observe until they decide when it's time for them to be comfortable. Maybe around 2. 
 When I'm in the bathroom LO sits on her potty pretending to go, or maybe she is in her diaper, then takes a toilet paper wipes her bum and puts it in the toilet to be flushed.

We are and she is doing well with it. Sometimes she doesn’t want to sit on the potty if she was doing something fun but other than that it’s been good. She has even started making it through naps and bedtime and staying dry a few times a week I put her on the potty as soon as she gets up. She also loves the paw patrol pull ups so they have helped a lot too.

Just be careful of regression when new baby comes! I waited to potty train until about 4 months after we had our second baby. (He was a few months over 2 years old at that point).

My girl hasnt got a clue bless her. Too much stress with this lock down to add that into the mix. Im going to wait untill spring/summer time.
