I straight up asked my ex. Of course he lied to me. I didn’t go through his phone. I just had a feeling. Then one day, I got messages from 3 different people on fb about him. They sent me screenshots of their conversations. He told then he was single and they had no reason not to believe him. They never actually met up with him. At that point I started to do some digging of my own. I checked phone records and finally had someone talk to him that I knew had cheated before. I thought he’d loosen up with that person. He did. That person made him come home and tell me the truth. I already knew in my mind so I just calmly told him I’d be filing for divorce.

I'm asking him point blank, communicating why I think he's cheating, asking him about any girls I think, and expect him to have enough respect for me to talk about it calmly and honestly so we can either move forward or break up.

I’d snoop to get the proof. I think asking them point blank just gives them the chance to hide evidence and make up some bullshjt story.

If I think he may be cheating it’s because he probably is. If I need to snoop in his phone or follow him, I probably already know but am just getting proof. Been there done that with an ex bf. Luckily my husband is totally transparent and I don’t have to wonder about anything. If I feel the need to check up on him we already have a problem. I think we know in our gut when something is off and it’s usually right. Rarely is someone just paranoid and accusing a partner unless there’s already trust issues. But if I need to gather evidence I will since most cheaters will lie and deny when confronted.

If I ever asked him 9/10 I already know the answer just wanting to see if he would lie. 
Reality is sometimes things fall into place and you don’t really have to look. When that happens plan ahead that way once you present your findings you already got enough closure that him saying anything wouldn’t matter.
