Did your daycare ask for you LO ssn?

I cannot think of or find a reason online why they would need it. I left the line blank, but I am curious if this is a normal thing. This daycare comes highly recommended by a friend and I have personally vetted it (even spent an hour there with my daughter in the classroom before signing up) and feel comfortable with it, but why do they want the #?

I worked for a daycare for years and we never needed the SSN not even for the children through the state. They can’t tell you what it’s for?

No. Insurance card numbers and medical records but not SSN. They are fully licensed.

Only daycare's I know of that have ever asked for a SSN was ones that are part of the Sooner Start Early Learning, and Development Program. Other then that no I've never heard of a daycare asking for it..

Nooo... I've even worked as a childcare provider and have not needed it. Although if your daycare is being paid for by the state then maybe... I did care for a kiddo a whole back and we needed to submit documents (possibly with SSN) for me to get paid but it wasn't a daycare, it was 1:1.
