promethazine while pregnant?

Question

I am 37 weeks pregnant, and my doctor prescribed Promethazine, generic for Phenergan.
I have read some bad reviews about this prescription, including it isn't safe during pregnancy?
I was prescribed it for Nausea. 
I haven't started it yet, been doing research on it. 
Anyone have advice?

I seriously suggest you stop researching and trust that the doctor knows what they’re giving you. Google will say everything is dangerous. I’ve taken it during pregnancy, and many others I know have. They wouldn’t give you something not safe for pregnancy.

It’s actually one of the first medications doctors prescribe for nausea during pregnancy because it’s one of the safest. They usually prescribe this before anything else like Zofran , especially in early pregnancy. Personally I hated it because it made me feel drowsy and I couldn’t even keep it down most the time so I eventually got prescribed zofran and it worked really well for me.

I took it from 5 weeks till 20 weeks. Had the best sleep and helped my nausea and vomiting a lot when paired with zofran.

With my twins, that saved my life. Even in the hospital. Every 8 hours for weeks/months. I had HG and that made me tired and not sick. (It burns going in but always made me pass out) it was the only medication that would give me a break from puking as I would be able to sleep. They also have it as a suppository for those who throw them back up. It literally saved my life.
