Period help for my daughter !!

So my daughter is 9 and a half and just got her first period! She is freaking out and scared . I feel she is so not ready to handle this, she doesn’t have the best of hygiene as it is I’m constantly on her about showering / face washing etc its every day. She even needs help in the shower mostly because she is lazy and doesn’t like doing things on her own I’m always encouraging her to do it on her own.

Well this just set her back and she is refusing to change pad, won’t touch it, just a mess.

I calmly told her about what to expect/ how to remove/ change pads , but I am so not ready for this either.

I contacted her school nurse to inform her in case she needs her, but what else can I do??? I’m sure it’ll take a ton of patience , and time. But any other tips ??? 😫 I was so not ready for this so early!
