Can you take a plan b on your period?

I was with my boyfriend, he did not pull out but as soon as i woke up i was on my period...Before i bought the plan b, i asked around to see if i needed to take it even though my period came the next day after unprotected sex but nobody could give me a good answer. So i took the plan b anyways. Now it’s the week of my next expected period and it’s not here yet. I’m so scared. Did the pill not work? Does it work on your period? I have so many questions
