Workaholic Partners?

Hello everyone, I've been with the same guy for 5 years on and off and guess what of course we're EXPECTING! I'm 6 weeks and 2 days and as excited as we are I can't get a lick of time in with him, I recently had a TIA and didn't even know until a week later😳. During this time I haven't saw the father of my baby in over 2 weeks. We got into a huge argument about him picking up a 2nd job. I'm trying to get him to understand that we both have a source of income there's no need to work like your addicted, but I'm realizing that I think he really is avoiding me! Or am I over reacting?

So, the problem is him working too much or legit avoiding you? My husband is a workaholic - always has been, always will be. I knew this when I married him and I knew I wouldn't change him. He doesn't have to work 24/7 because we both have good jobs with great salary and benefits. He chooses to work a lot. When I got pregnant that didn't change. He continued working just as much, missed appointments, and made commitments to me he couldn't keep (always has done this). Since I knew this when I married him I didn't get mad. If you've known he's a workaholic and nothing has changed then you can't really get upset about it.

I was the workaholic one in my
 Relationship. Working almost 60hrs a week while pregnant an I recently quit my part time job because it's stop much physically and mentally and I'm not trying to have any complications it's just not worth it. I just wanted to make sure my baby would have EVERYTHING AN WANT FOR NOTHING, but it still will

My SO is a workaholic.
I was completely surprised when he took 3 weeks off when our son was due. But he stayed busy every single day, doing things around the house and in the garage. 
He can't help himself.
If this is normal for him then I don't think he's trying to avoid you. Men feel the pressure of being financially secure

I totally get wanting to spend more time with him. But he prob picked up a second job because maybe he's worrying about the fact he's having a baby and they cost a ton. Have you tried really talking to him about it? Does he want you to work once you have the baby? Is he trying to save the extra money for the baby? My husband works a ton but our plan is for me to stay home once the baby comes.

I don't know the whole situation so I can't tell you wether or not he's avoiding you. But I can tell you what I think. You have a good man! Yes he may be a workaholic, which can be bad, at least he has a job and can help support you and your little bundle of joy. He could have no job and spend every second with you and then you would be upset about that. I'm not saying your wrong to feel this way. I would probably feel lonely to. But sit down and have a real talk with him when you get a chance. He may have that second job that way you guys can have a better life.
