Would you get your husband who your separating from a Valentines Day gift?

About  two weeks ago husband and I started discussing separation due to his constant infidelity. I want to remain friends because our children need to see us working together but also want to be clear being friends is my only intention. Would a simple gift be misleading? Would it be expected?

I think there are other occasions where you can get him a gift for co-parenting/civility reasons and Valentine’s Day isn’t one of them. Maybe his birthday or Father’s Day...but since he cheated I wouldn’t be getting him anything!!

I have seen where people who are separated or divorced give each other Valentine’s presents to show their kids there is still a mutual respect or love. Think since you’re still in the process instead of you giving him the gift have the kids give him a gift you help them make or buy. This way they can still see that mutual respect. I think you’re on the right track to coparenting! Well done!!

I would honestly ask the kids if they want to give their dad a card and help them make it. You don’t need to get him anything. I think it would just be nice if you helped your kids make something for their dad
