Any advice for sleeping?!

Since we brought her home from the hospital (she’s 9 days old), she won’t sleep for more than 15-20 minutes at a time without being held. I’ve guiltily fallen asleep with her a few times as I’d be laying in my bed with her while we nurse. That’s the only time I’m able to sleep too! We’ve tried the bed-side sleeper, the bed-top bassinet between us, nothing works!!

Honestly regardless on what you do this is pretty normal for the first few week. It gets better. Right now baby just needs to be held. Birth is traumatizing

I agree with the first post. Very normal for the first couple weeks. It does get better!! If you have any support this is the time to use it! Have someone take a shift here or there to help you recover and give yourself some rest if possible.

Definitely gets better but the first 3-4 weeks are kinda hellish 🤪 I definitely slept sometimes with baby on my chest but it wasn’t in bed it was sitting up in the couch and I’d bring a pillow and we would nurse and sleep in an off most nights the first few weeks it was the only way I could get any sleep and she was very safe. No blankets or anything to get covered with etc. after that she started sleeping longer stretches at night and we have transitioned to a bed side bassinet and she sleeps great now long stretches at night. It will get better

Pump some milk into a bottle and switch off with your partner. That way you both get a few r.e.m. cycles and can function. Its just a survival mode in the beginning...figuring out what wrks for you.

Swaddle.  Put a heat pad down on bassinet (or whatever surface they are sleeping) to warm it up first.  That might buy you a little extra time.
