Does my son sleep too much?
Hello October Mamas, I’m a FTM. I’ve always let my son be the one who leads us in his naps. I saw everyone else’s “schedules” and nap times and my baby is way different to any post or comment I saw.
Here is an outlook of our day:
8am: Wakes up, breastfeeds and goes back to sleep
10am or sometimes 11am: Wakes up, we eat breakfast, play, read etc..
2pm: Breastfeeds, and takes another nap.
4pm: Wakes up, snack time, and plays while I make dinner, we then eat dinner..
We then don’t sleep until around 9:30pm
I know a lot of people put their baby to sleep a lot earlier, but we do go to church in the evening some days and this is what works for us. I thought I’d explain that so you’d see why we go to bed at that time..
But aside from that, does he nap too much? This isn’t ME putting him to nap. He himself won’t go past 2-3 three hours awake, but I’m just curious after seeing everyone else. Like I said I don’t plan anything I let him lead. We see the tired cues and the fussiness, we’ll hold him and he’ll go to sleep after 15-30 minutes
Also there are days he’ll take a nap at like 6:30 or 7ish for 45 minutes..
I’m concerned bc I saw everyone else’s schedule was a lot different and it seemed like they spent more hours with an awake baby then us ? I’m not sure and I haven’t brought it up with the pediatrician bc I never had a question, like I said I let him lead and I never doubted until I saw everyone else’s schedule.
