My BF grandmother used to comment on me not working or having my license. I was telling my MIL this and she said” so so didn’t even have her license until her last kid was XX years old. 
So the next time i saw his grandma and she got on me i said “well you didn’t have your license until so so was XX years old so you have no room to talk.” I haven’t heard another word from this woman about being a SAHM or not having my license.

I’d ask my husband to talk to his family and tell them that is was our mutual decision and stop giving you crap for it or expect us not to want to interact with them as much anymore bc you don’t deserve to have to hear that mess and it’s mean and rude. Some people are just bitter for whatever reason 🙄
