Depressed boyfriend

I feel almost as lost as my boyfriend and feel beyond useless. His grandmother is gonna be taken off life support, unemployment is taking forever to send his check and has bills to pay. I helped him out with a couple of bills but other than that I dont know what to say or do for him to know it’s gonna be ok. He gets short with me and sometimes not all there and spacing out. It’s hard for me to watch him like this please any advice?
