Wanting to be a SAHM!

So were due in July and I get one year of mat leave.

I already know I don’t want to go back to work after the Mat leave. I work a very normal office job and I make about 40k. My husband makes upwards of 250K and can very well take care of us in my opinion. I feel like my little pay wouldn’t really make a difference. If anything I feel like it wouldn’t make sense for me to return to work and pay for daycare 5 days a week. I would also be home to clean so we wouldn’t need our weekly cleaning lady, I would be responsible for groceries etc.

My husband is not really on board and feels like any income helps the household. How can I convince him that it would be more beneficial for me to be home. Instead of working 40hrs a week and putting the baby in daycare to turn around and give my pay-check to daycare...

Does that make any sense?

I want to add that this will be our first and last baby due to some fertility issues that I only want to go through once. So i really want to enjoy the baby stage. And it would only be for about 4 years until the baby goes to school! Then I would gladly go back to work!
