Sorry but...what is the reason for trumps impeachment? Don’t we already have Biden as president?

can someone explain this...I tried looking it up but it’s only news about trucks impeachment and how it’s going. Not the reason why.

The main reason is he incited an insurrection. Even though he is out of office it means his benefits, his secret service, travel budget, etc. could all be forfeited and he wouldn't be able to run for office again.

There wasn’t enough time during his presidency for all of the legal trials to take place that were already in motion. In addition to disallowing trump from running again (the arguments for which have been made in the hearings) this is also important for the democracy of our country to outline what is, and more importantly-  what isn’t- considered constitutionally sound. Many folks are concerned that if we allow one president to challenge the legal barriers of the presidency, that that will set a precedent for any future office holder to do the same.

the outrageous and unconstitutional things he did as president. he was impeached as president close to the election so even though he is no longer in office, they still had to go through with the trial. sadly he was not found guilty. post this somewhere else though

His words and actions over the last many years and his words on the 6th incited the mob that overtook the capital in which 5 people ended up loosing their lives. Despite being out of office, he was in office when that happened and as a former president he still receives many benefits and can also run for office again.

A sitting president cannot be held criminally accountable by the justice system.  Instead, our constitution tasks congress with holding the president accountable for criminal behavior.  He was impeached while president for the crime of incitement of insurrection.  An impeachment is the rough equivalent to a criminal indictment. After being impeached, the trial is held in the senate.  Because he committed this crime so close to the end of his term, he was no longer president by the time it came to trial.  
Also, because he is now a private citizen, he can be indicted for his crimes and face criminal prosecution in a court of law. McConnell mentions this as his reason to acquit, despite the fact that he believes the senate would likely have convicted if Trump still held office.
