Vaginal irritation. HELP

Ladies. I’ve had irritation a few times. It starts during sex and then it lasts for two weeks or more. It’s usually Around my period and after. I should mention we use water based lube and ive been to the doctor for this issue and she said to stay away from irritants and I didn’t have an infection. She also told me to use Domeboro but I don’t feel it helps. It’s so annoying. I do use dove sensitive skin to wash but I’ve been using that and I don’t switch soaps often if at all. Has anyone else had this happen ? And what can I do besides not have sex with my significant other
