Did anyone have gender disappointment?

Question

I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant with my second (my partners third) child. He has a son from a previous relationship and we have a daughter together. My partner would quite like this to be our last baby as he is approaching 40 (he's 13 years older than me). 
I would be lying if I said I don't really hope this baby is a boy as I would love a little boy of my own too. Obviously if it's a girl she will still be loved beyond belief and I will feel absolutely awful about it but I'm worried about gender disappointment. 
My partner has said that if it's a girl he wouldn't mind having another one to try for a boy but I know deep down he'd like to stop after this one. I feel awful because I know there are so many women out there hoping for one baby regardless of gender. 
Surely I can't be the only one secretly hoping for a certain gender.

I was quite heartbroken when my second was another boy. I really wanted a girl since we weren’t sure if it was our last or not. But he is so special to me, he’s the sweetest little guy. It took me a couple weeks to get over it, but I became excited! And now I’m 26 weeks we’re our baby girl! And we are done lol

I was hoping for a girl when I was pregnant with my son. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit disappointed. Once he was here though, I couldn’t imagine loving another baby more than I love him. We’re trying for #2 now and I can honestly say I couldn’t care less what the gender is. I used to think people who said that were full of it lol. 
It’s totally fine to have those feelings now, you won’t love your baby any more or less for being a certain gender.

I wanted a girl SO bad , here I am 30’weeks with a boy.. I cried at my gender reveal lmaooo.. but now I can’t wait to meet my son. It’s normal, a real mother will get over it

I was hoping for a boy, we had an ultrasound and were told boy I was thrilled because its been all girls in the new generation of my husband's family so finally a boy! She came out a girl 😂😂 
I can't say I was disappointed she wasn't a boy because little girls are a blast too but I still want my boy!

I was hugely disappointed when my 2nd was another boy. We only want and planned for 2 kids so my dreams of a little girl went up in smoke. 
I love my boys with my everything. But that doesn't mean I wasn't sad when we found out. I even asked the ultrasound tech to look twice to be sure and there was no denying his gender.

I wanted a girl sooo bad when I was pregnant. My sister had 3 boys (now 4) and I think most my family was hoping for a girl.  I love my son more than life itself but sometimes I still find myself wishing for a daughter. We only had the one chance though and I wouldn't trade him for anything.

No I haven’t we have 3 BUT we want one more and I’m hoping it’s a girl (not pregnant yet) we have a girl 12 (my husbands previous relationship) another girl 4, a boy (2) and a other boy 11m. My girls are so far apart in age they are on different planets. If we do have another on it will be in a couple months as I really don’t want a huge age gap between them again ( there will 5 already but it’s still less the the almost 8 of my current girls). If it’s another boy I’ll have 3 boys in 4 years. Lol lord help me.

My partner wanted a little boy and o was convinced I was having a boy then I was told I was having a girl. We was a little disappointed but cant imagine her being a boy now we found his best friend was more disappointed than we was bit even he wouldn't change her for the world now she is here
