Is it normal to feel unsure about starting a new relationship?

I’m 23 and have never dated before. My guy friend of year has shown interest and so have I. I have liked him for a long time but now I’m feeling hesitant of starting things. Idk if it’s because it’s the first time I’ve ever experienced mutual interest or because it’s so new for me. Could it also just be a sign not to date him. No big red flags though.

You’re feeling unsure because you’re focusing too much on the definition of a “relationship”. 
Don’t rush to have “official” titles and accountabilities, and do not set high expectations until you know things are truly establishing. If you focus on these things, it’s not going to be fun. 
Let love flourish. Have fun and be spontaneous together, and nothing else. You’ll both know when it’s time to get a little more serious.

It’s normal because it’s new to you, like when starting a new job or moving to a new city it’s all a change that’ll take time. What are the “little” red flags though? That could have alot to do with it.
