Lil pissed
Come tomorrow it will be the 5th week that I haven't worked. Before my boss told me hours were cut I was working two days a week, 14 hours. I wanted more hours, but being that it's dollar general I don't think they hire anyone full time.
Anyways, I finally got the courage earlier this week to call him because he stopped answering my texts and I wanted to know if I still had a job. It's likely that I don't, but I live in income based housing and need proof. He rejected my phone call. I call again later and again the next day, both times my call was rejected. I would give him the benefit of the doubt and say maybe he's sick or busy or whatever, but I know he works every day, most hours, and even when he's working he stops to answer the phone most the time. Plus he's just the kind of asshole that rejects calls.
Since he never answered my calls I had to resort to telling him what I needed to know in text. If he doesn't reply I will be texting him with a heads up that I will be swinging by the store to talk to him tomorrow or Sunday. If he takes my texts in a rude tone or whatever, so be it, he already hasn't had me working for 5 weeks, not much else he can do. I have a very legitimate reason for trying to get in contact with him and if I'm fired he needs to man tf up and tell me.
I've been searching for a new job, but no such luck. I've been avoiding trying to apply for unemployment, but if I don't find a job soon here I'm going to have to try. Otherwise I will be in deep shit.
**Not looking for advice on job finding, but if you have a comment about my asshole boss or a helpful comment about unemployment it is more than welcome**
